The data price in Nigeria is very costly making it hard to buy a data that can even last for a month if you really want to be internet freedom. This generation needs to have internet freedom because technology has made every thing gone global.
The only limitation about Ntel in Nigeria is that they are only situated about three states in Nigeria, States like Lagos, Port Harcort and Abuja. They are the only one enjoying this fast internet freedom. You don’t know how I wish they are in my state. Unfortunately they are not.
However, Google Launched Free WiFi Hotspot Network in Nigeria to be Every State in Nigeria. This is one of the best thing that has happened to Nigerians since 3 years now.
During the launching yesterday, Google vice president for product management, Anjali Joshi told Reuters “We are rolling out the service in Lagos today but the plan is to quickly expand to other locations,”. The statement is a relief to the remaining 180 million people who can’t enjoy the service at the moment.
The company said it aimed to collaborate with internet service providers to reach millions of Nigerians in 200 public spaces, across five cities by the end of 2019.
What do you think about this innovation? Do you think the Carbans in Nigeria will let this happen considering what they stand to loose?
